Storrs Community Church

Values
Authenticity
We want to be real, honest and genuine. We want more than slick productions and nice appearances; we want to encourage people to be authentic with God and one another.
Process

The journey is as important as the destination. We encourage each other to explore our questions and progress in our spiritual journeys, each at their own pace.
The Un-Churched
In everything we do as a church, we will creatively and lovingly seek to include and welcome those who do not yet know Christ.
Risk

We are limited only by the size of our God and to accomplish our mission we must be willing to step out in visionary faith and take risks for God.
Justice

We sense a deepening call as God’s people to be a catalyst for social justice and to work together to transform unjust policies, structures, and institutions so they work on behalf of the common good.

We value the Scriptures as the inspired Word of God. We strive to teach, apply and live the Word of God with integrity.

Hospitality

We want to welcome others the way God has welcomed us. We want to be a safe and accepting place for people, whatever their background. Everyone is created in the image of God and is to be treated with the dignity.
Worship

Worship celebrates the grace of God in Christ and strengthens our everyday, in-the-world worship. We value worship that is God focused, Biblically centered, culturally sensitive, and historically rich.
Community

Experiencing the rich life God intends requires that we are connected with others: serving and being served, challenging and being challenged, giving and receiving forgiveness, teaching and being taught, giving and receiving, being encouraged and offering encouragement.
The Scriptures

We value the Scriptures as the inspired Word of God. We strive to teach, apply and live the Word of God with integrity.
Family

We seek to provide an atmosphere that strengthens marriages, draws families together, and nurtures children.
Spiritual Growth

We believe that the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and his cause is normal for every follower of Christ.

At Storrs Community Church we offer a spiritual home where others can explore faith issues, ask questions, voice doubts and be who they are, without pressure to conform or embarrassment because they don’t believe quite like everyone else.
